Origin of Ebisu

The name of the place, Ebisu, comes from the beer brand Ebisu Beer. In 1887, during the Meiji Era, the Nippon Beer Brewing Company (now Sapporo Breweries, Ltd.) established a factory in this area and launched “Ebisu Beer” in 1890.
